The Water Powered Oscillating Monitor Station is a self-contained unit that relies only on water flow and pressure to place the system into operation.

It is suitable for use in high-risk areas such as tank farm facilities, offshore, refineries, chemical plants, process areas and loading racks.

FEATURES

  • Oscillating monitor and self-educting nozzle, non air-aspirating type, which has a better stream and gives a constant flow whether on straight stream or fog patterns. Nozzle flow rate is 350, 500, 750 or 1000 gpm @ 100 psi.

  • Foam concentrate storage tank is manufactured of type 316 stainless steel, tank capacity from 100–300 gallons of foam concentration.

  • Pick-up tube has manual ball valve that can be closed to be used with water only.

  • Chemguard Water Powered Oscillating Mechanism to be placed between a flanged/valved outlet and an monitor. A water drive wheel driving a double reduction gearbox drives the oscillating mechanism. To operate the water drive wheel, a small quantity of water-foam solution is diverted from the mechanism inlet. The unit requires no external wiring or hydraulic control for operation. The water drive wheel design is unique in that the flow of waterfoam solution does not require a filtering process. This makes the oscillating mechanism more reliable and less likely to fail.

  • Tank is supplied with 1” drain plug and 4” fill opening on top of tank.

  • Tank can be refilled during operation of the unit.

  • Suitable for use with any type foam concentrate.

  • Unique water drive wheel design

  • Arc of oscillation adjustable via 6 set points

  • Speed adjustable for 0-30o/sec. (24 degrees/sec @100 psi)

  • Minimum operating pressure 40 psi (2.8 Bar)

  • Maximum operating pressure 200 psi (14 Bar)

  • Flow of water-foam solution through water drive wheel:o At 50 psi (3.5 Bar) 5 gpm (19 Ipm)

    o At 100 psi (7 Bar) 8 gpm (30 Ipm)

  • Double reduction oil bath gearbox

  • Grease fittings and two rows of stainless steel ball bearings at all rotation joints on unit

  • All brass and stainless steel construction

  • Unit equipped with a garden hose test connection. This allows functional check of the oscillating mechanism without system flow.

  • The mechanism can be set to oscillate over a range of 0-120 degrees

  • Monitor inlets are 4″ ANSI Class 150 Flat Face flanges
